Consuela Muñoz: In today's episode, we want to talk about what you can expect to achieve when you implement the LEED method. And LEAD is Leverages strength, Empower engagement, Achieve aspirations and Drive performance. I know it can be a little bit daunting to think about investing the time and resources in a personal development or professional development for yourself or even for your team.
Speaker:And with that, I want to share a person a leader I was working with not that long ago, working with his entire team. And there was a particular member, a junior member on his team, a young lady. And she was we were halfway through the program. And she had went to this breakthrough event that the company was having a bunch of leaders that they had brought in, they were trying to get really new ideas. And as they asked to share, even though she was surrounded by people have been at the company longer, at much higher levels than she was at her hand shot up, she had been observing and really engaged with her job because of the work we were doing. And she said, you know, our process is clunky, and it's costing us millions dollars, individuals are able to make edits at the same time. And it's not real streamlined. And so sometimes the wrong version gets all the way to printing, and then we printed the wrong version. And we have to scrap all of that it's costing us a lot of money to have this clunky procedure. And I have some ideas on how we could improve that. They're very impressed with her and encouraged her to talk to her manager. So she did, she brought it up with her manager, then she shared it with their team. And everyone was very excited by this opportunity. They created an 18 month program to find and implement the software. So as they did this, as they're working through this, at the end of this project, they were able to show a cost savings of over $5 million $5 million. And as they did this, the company recognized their team with an Outstanding Achievement Award. And not only that, the project then was expanded to take this to the rest of the businesses that did this work globally. This was becoming a global change, the company was doing all because this individual was getting engaged with her work. And felt empowered to talk about it in a way that she expressed how she was able to bring this change. This was a leader who wanted everyone on his team, to be a leader to act as a leader to be able to give more to give what they're meant to give to give all that they could act as if this was their business. His foresight, help this woman be really engaged and bring this cost savings and this amazing result for the company. I know it can be daunting, but in cases like this, you can almost not afford to invest in a program like this.
